Mark Isham is scoring the upcoming drama The Headhunter’s Calling. The film marks the directorial debut of producer Mark Williams (Flawless) and stars Gerard Butler, Alison Brie, Willem Dafoe, Gretchen Mol and Alfred Molina. The movie follows a ruthless corporate headhunter who battles his rival for control of their job placement company, until a family tragedy brings his personal and professional lives into conflict. Bill Dubuque (The Judge) has written the screenplay. Williams is also producing the Voltage Films, Zero Gravity Management and G-Base production with Butler & Alan Siegel (Olympus Has Fallen), Craig Flores (Charlie Countryman), Nicolas Chartier (The Hurt Locker, Killer Joe) and Patrick Newall (The Keeping Room). Isham has previously scored the Williams-produced The Accountant, which will be released nationwide this fall, and also composed the music for G-Base Productions’ Septembers of Shiraz. The Headhunter’s Calling will premiere in September at the Toronto Film Festival. No word yet on a distribution deal.
In addition to Gavin O’Connor’s The Accountant, Isham also has the animated feature Duck Duck Goose, Scott Hick’s fantasy romance Fallen, Stephen Herek’s The Great Gilly Hopkins, Bruce Beresford’s Mr. Church and the action sequel Mechanic: Resurrection coming up. He also continues to score ABC’s Once Upon a Time and American Crime.
