Saunder Jurriaans and Danny Bensi have been tapped to score the documentary Amanda Knox. The film is directed by Brian McGinn (Ferrell Takes the Field) & Rod Blackhurst (Here Alone) and recounts the infamous trial, conviction and eventual acquittal of Seattle native Amanda Knox for the 2007 murder of a British exchange student in Italy. Mette Heide (Taxi to the Dark Side) and Stephen Morse are producing the project and Adam Del Deo (The Case Against 8) and Ben Cotner & Lisa Nishimura (Making a Murderer, Chef’s Table, Virunga, Winter on Fire) serve as the executive producers. Amanda Knox will premiere next month at the Toronto Film Festival and is expected to premiere later this year on Netflix.
The composer duo’s other upcoming projects also include the supernatural thriller The Autopsy of Jane Doe starring Emile Hirsch and the drama Barry starring Devon Terrell as Barack Obama, both of which will also premiere in Toronto. They also have the thriller Rosy starring Nat Wolff coming up.
