James Lavino has been hired to score the upcoming indie drama One Last Thing. The film is written and directed by Tim Rouhana and stars Wendell Pierce (The Wire, Treme), Joanne Froggatt (Downton Abbey) and Jurnee Smollet-Bell (Underground). The movie tells the story of a lonely dentist in Florida whose days are filled by work and his solo daily golf game and who begins to journey outside his comfort zone when he’s confronted by a figure from the past and finds out that he has an adult daughter living in Brooklyn. Alexa L. Fogel and Brendan Mason are producing the Beech Hill Films & Low Profile Films production. One Last Thing is currently in post-production and is expected to premiere in 2017.
Lavino’s recent projects include Todd Solondz’s Wiener-Dog and the documentary Unlocking the Cage, which both premiere at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and opened in select theaters this summer. The composer also has the thriller You Were Never Here starring Mireille Enos & Sam Shepard coming up.
