Craig Armstrong is composing the original score for the upcoming comedy sequel Bridget Jones’s Baby. The film is directed by Sharon Maguire who previously directed the 2001 original film and stars Renee Zellweger, Colin Firth, Patrick Dempsey, Jim Broadbent, Gemma Jones and Emma Thompson. The movie follows the title character as she finds herself pregnant and doesn’t know who the father is. Helen Fielding has co-written the screenplay with Thompson and Dan Mazer (Ali G Indahouse, I Give It a Year). Tim Bevan & Eric Fellner (Love Actually, Atonement, Rush, United 93) and Debra Hayward (Les Miserables) are producing the Working Titles Pictures production. Patrick Doyle scored 2001’s Bridget Jones’s Diary and Harry Gregson-Williams composed the music for the 2004 sequel Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason. Bridget Jones’s Baby will be released on September 16, 2016 by Universal Pictures.
As previously reported, Armstrong also has the drama Snowden directed by Oliver Stone and starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt& Shailene Woodley coming up. The movie will also be released on September 16 by Open Road Pictures. The composer’s latest projects, Me Before You, is currently playing in theaters nationwide.
