James Levine has composed the music for the second season of the Netflix original series Bloodline. The show is created and executive produced by Todd A. Kessler, Daniel Zelman & Glenn Kessler and stars Kyle Chandler, Linda Cardellini, Ben Mendelsohn, Sissy Spacek, Norbert Leo Butz, Jamie McShane and Jacinda Barrett. The second season of the drama continues the story centering around the Rayburn family, which owns and runs an oceanfront hotel in the Florida Keys. Levine has previously scored all seasons of the FX series Damages for the producers. The composer describes his music for the show as “uncomfortable, unsettling and jarring”, which seems to be the perfect approach to underscore the drama’s brooding atmosphere and narrative tension. Tony Morales & Edward Rogers previously composed the music for the first season of the Sony Pictures Television production. Season 2 of Bloodline premieres this Friday, May 27 on Netflix.
Levine (Glee, Nip/Tuck, American Horror Story) also continues to write the music for USA’s Rizzoli & Isles, which will return for its seventh and final season this summer. He is also co-scoring TNT’s The Last Ship with Jim Dooley. The show’s third season is set to premiere on June 12.
