La-La Land Records has announced a new remastered and expanded soundtrack release for the 1994 drama The Shawshank Redemption directed by Frank Darabont and starring Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman. The album features the Academy Award-nominated original music from the film composed and conducted by Thomas Newman (American Beauty, Finding Nemo, Skyfall, The Green Mile, Erin Brockovich), including almost an hour of previously unreleased music. The 2-CD set features the composer’s full score on one disc and several alternate and extended cues, as well as the movie’s source music on a second disc.
