Varese Sarabande has announced a Blu-ray release of the Hollywood in Vienna 2013 Film Music Gala, which featured late composer James Horner as an honored guest and recipient of the Max Steiner Award. David Newman conducted the ORF Vienna Radio-Symphony Orchestra at the Vienna Konzerthaus. The Blu-ray features the concert gala, including performances of several scores composed by Horner including Titanic, Braveheart, Legends of the Fall and Avatar, as well as songs from The Land Before Time and An American Tail performed by Deborah Cox and Jeremy Schonfeld. Also included is a 75-minute symposium, which was moderated by Varese Sarabande’s Robert Townson at the concert weekend in Vienna. The Blu-ray will be released this June and is now available for pre-order on Amazon.
