Ian Hultquist revealed in a recent interview with Musing on Music that he is the new composer of the DirecTV original series Full Circle. He is scoring the third season of the show, which is written by Jorge Zamacona (The Last Ship, Oz) and stars Dougray Scott and Kim Raver. Season 3 centers on a sex scandal that threatens to destroy a Presidential candidate and stop his almost certain election. Nick Hamm (Rogue) directing and executive producing the Momentum TV production. Jeff Cardoni has previously scored the show’s first season written by Neil LaBute and Craig Marks scored the second season written by Keith Huff. The third season of Full Circle is expected to premiere later this year on DirecTV’s Audience Network.
Hultquist who is known as a former member of the band Passion Pit has recently also co-scored the documentary The First Monday in May with Sofia Hultquist. The film directed by Andrew Rossi follows the creation of The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s most attended fashion exhibition in history, China: Through The Looking Glass. The movie will premiere this week at the Tribeca Film Festival and will be released in select theaters on April 15 by Magnolia Pictures. The composer’s other recent projects include the comedy My Blind Brother directed by Sophia Goodhart and starring Adam Scott, Nick Kroll, Jenny Slate and Zoe Kazan. The film just premiered at last month’s SXSW Film Festival and was picked up by Starz Digital for a release in select theaters and on VOD later this year.
