David Wingo is reteaming with director Jeff Nichols on the upcoming drama Loving. The film is written and directed by Nichols and stars Joel Edgerton, Ruth Negga, Nick Kroll, Marton Csokas and Michael Shannon. The movie is inspired by Nancy Buirski’s documentary The Loving Story and tells the true story of Richard and Mildred Loving, an interracial couple, who were sentenced to prison in Virginia in 1958 for getting married. Ged Doherty & Colin Firth (Eye In The Sky), Sarah Green (Frida, The Tree of Life), Buirski and Marc Turtletaub & Peter Saraf (Little Miss Sunshine, Safety Not Guaranteed) are producing the project. Wingo has previously scored Nichols’ previous three features, including Take Shelter, Mud and Midnight Special, which is currently playing in theaters. Loving is currently in post-production and is rumored to premiere next month at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival. Focus Features has picked up domestic distribution rights and is planning a release on November 4, 2016.
