Colin Stetson and Sarah Neufeld are composing the music for the upcoming psychological thriller Lavender. The film is directed by Ed Gass-Donnelly (The Last Exorcism Part II) and stars Abbie Cornish, Diego Klattenhoff, Dermot Mulroney, Justin Long, Lola Flanery and Sarah Abbot. The movie follows a photographer struggling with severe memory loss who begins to think that she may be responsible for the deaths of family members she never knew she had. Gass-Donnelly has written the screenplay with Colin Frizzell and is also producing the project with Dave Valleau (Reasonable Doubt, The Entitled). Lavender is set to premiere next month at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival.
Stetson who is best known as a saxophonist and has worked with such bands as Arcade Fire and Bon Iver has also scored the western Outlaws & Angels. The film is written and directed by JT Mollner and stars Chad Michael Murray, Francesca Eastwood, Luke Wilson, Teri Polo, Madisen Beaty and Ben Browder. The movie premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and was acquired by Momentum Pictures for a release later this year. Neufeld is best known for her work as a violinist and has previously co-scored the 2013 indie drama Blue Caprice with Stetson.
