Madison Gate Records will release the main titles song from the WGN America original series Underground. The track, entitled Heaven’s Door is performed by Grammy nominated singer/songwriter Alice Smith. The song will be released digitally on March 16, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Underground is created by Misha Green & Joe Pokaski and stars Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Aldis Hodge, Christopher Meloni, Jessica de Gouw, Marc Blucas, Alano Miller, Adina Porter, Mykelti Williamson, Amirah Vann, Reed Diamond and Johnny Ray Gill. The show follows a group of slaves who aim to travel 600 miles to escape from a Georgia plantation .A full soundtrack album featuring music by the show’s composers Laura Karpman & Raphael Saadiq is in the works.
