Columbia Records and Legacy Recordings will release the official soundtrack album for the biographical drama Miles Ahead. The album features highlights from the career of the film’s subject Miles Davis, as well as new recordings overseen by Grammy Award-winning jazz/hip-hop artist Robert Glasper, including What’s Wrong with That?, a jam that closes the movie with guest performers Glasper, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Gary Clark, Jr. and Esperanza Spalding. Also included is the end credits song Gone 2015 featuring guest verses from rapper Pharoahe Monch. The soundtrack will be released on April 1, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Miles Ahead is directed by Don Cheadle who also stars in the title role, as well as Ewan McGregor, Emayatzy Corinealdi, Lakeith Lee Stanfield and Michael Stuhlbarg. The movie tells the story of a few lost days in the life of Miles Davis, as he bursts out of his silent period, conspires with a Rolling Stone writer to steal back his music, and relives the years he had with his great love. The drama premiered at last year’s New York Film Festival and will be released in select theaters on April 1 by Sony Pictures Classics before expanding to more cities within the following weeks.
