Danny Bensi and Saunder Jurriaans have been tapped to score the upcoming supernatural horror thriller The Autopsy of Jane Doe. The film marks the English language debut of director Andre Ovredal (Trollhunters) and stars Emile Hirsch, Brian Cox, Ophelia Lovibond, Parker Sawyers and Yves O’Hara. The movie follows two coroners who receive a mysterious homicide victim with no apparent cause of death and later discover increasingly bizarre clues that hold the key to her terrifying secrets. Ian Goldberg and Richard Naing have written the Black List-honored screenplay. Fred Berger (La La Land) and Eric Garcia (Matchstick Men) are producing the project for Impostor Pictures, alongside Rory Aitken & Ben Pugh (Welcome to the Punch, Monsters: Dark Continent) for their 42 production company. The Autopsy of Jane Doe is currently in post-production and is expected to premiere later this year.
Bensi and Jurriaans have recently also scored a number of movies that premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, including Antonio Campos’ Christine starring Rebecca Hall, which was picked up by The Orchard for a release later this year, Joshua Marston’s Complete Unknown starring Rachel Weisz, which was acquired by Amazon, as well as Frank & Lola starring Imogen Poots & Michael Shannon, which was picked up by Universal. The composer duo also has the drama The Ticket starring Dan Stevens coming up. The composers also have composed the music for several films that premiered at film festival and will be released later this year, including Last Days in the Desert starring Ewan McGregor & Tye Sheridan, The Driftless Area starring Zooey Deschanel & Anton Yelchin and Jack of the Red Hearts starring AnnaSophia Robb & Famke Janssen, which will be released in select theaters this coming weekend.
