Nick Urata is reteaming with director Stephen Gyllenhaal on the upcoming drama So B. It. The film starring Alfre Woodard, Talitha Bateman, John Heard, Cloris Leachman, Jacinda Barrett, Dash Mihok and Jessica Collins is based on the young adult novel of the same title by Sarah Weeks and follows a 12-year-old girl who decides to take a solo cross-country trip and leave the safety of her home life with her mentally challenged mother and agoraphobic neighbor. Orien Richman is producing the Outside The Box and Branded Pictures Entertainment production with J. Todd Harris (The Kids Are All Right, Bottle Shock).
Garry Williams (Larger Than Life) has written the screenplay. Urata and Gyllenhaal have previously collaborated on the 2012 feature Grassroots, as well as the television movie Girl Fight. So B. It is expected to premiere later this year.
Urata’s upcoming projects also include the comedy Whiskey Tango Foxtrot (previously entitled Fun House) starring Tina Fey, Margot Robbie & Martin Freeman coming up. The movie will be released on March 4, 2016 by Paramount Pictures.
