Jake Monaco has recently composed the music for the upcoming comedy sequel Kindergarten Cop 2. The film is directed by Don Michael Paul (Half Past Dead) and stars Dolph Lundgren as an FBI agent who goes undercover as a kindergarten teacher to find a missing flash drive from the Federal Witness Protection Program. David H. Steinberg (American Pie 2, Slackers) has written the screenplay. Mike Elliott (The Devil’s Rejects, The Perfect Holiday) is producing the project from Universal Pictures’ 1440 Entertainment division. The 1990 original hit film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger was scored by Randy Edelman. Kindergarten Cop 2 will be released in 2016.
Monaco has also been hired to score the upcoming Amazon original series The Stinky & Dirty Show. The show is written and developed by Guy Toubes based on the books of Jim and Kate McMullan and tells the adventures of best friends and unlikely heroes, Stinky the garbage truck and Dirty the backhoe loader. The animated series’ pilot episode (scored by a different composer) premiered earlier this year and the show’s full first season will debut in 2016 on Amazon.
The composer whose previous scoring credits include Let’s Be Cops, Playing It Cool and Struck by Lightning is also composing the music for the animated series Be Cool, Scooby Doo!. The first season of the show produced by Warner Bros. Animation and featuring the voices of Frank Welker, Grey Griffin, Matthew Lillard & Kate Micucci premiered this past October on Cartoon Network (click here for more information). Monaco is also scoring DreamWorks Animation Television’s Netflix series Dinotrux based on Chris Gall’s illustrated children’s book series. The first season of the show premiered this past summer and two more seasons are set to debut over the next couple of years. Visit Netflix to stream the first ten episodes of the series.
