Charlie Clouser revealed on Twitter that he is composing the score for the upcoming Syfy original mini-series Childhood’s End. The show is based on the sci-fi novel by Arthur C. Clarke (2001: A Space Odyssey) of the same title and stars Charles Dance, Mike Vogel, Daisy Betts, Yael Stone, Julian McMahon, Osy Ikhile and Colm Meaney. The 6-parter centers on a peaceful alien invasion of Earth by the mysterious Overlords, whose arrival ends all war and turns the planet into a near-utopia. Matthew Graham (Life on Mars) has developed the series and is executive producing the Universal Cable production with Akiva Goldsman (A Beautiful Mind, I Am Legend, I, Robot) and Michael De Luca (Moneyball, Captain Phillips). Nick Hurran (Little Black Book, Undertaking Betty) serves as the series’ director. Clouser’s previous scoring credits include the Saw series, Resident Evil: Extinction, Dead Silence, as well as such TV shows as Numb3rs, Las Vegas and this year’s Wayward Pines. Childhood’s End is set to premiere on December 14, 2015 on Syfy. For updates on the project, visit Syfy’s official website.
