John Swihart revealed in a recent interview with Geektown Radio that is reuniting with director Kerem Sanga on the upcoming indie romantic dramedy First Girl I Loved. The film is written and directed by Sanga and stars Dylan Gelula, Brianna Hildebrand, Mateo Arias, Pamela Adlon, Tim Heidecker, Erik Griffin and Cameron Esposito. The movie centers on the relationship of a sarcastic, closeted teenager and a classmate who’s suddenly unsure of her own orientation. Dave Hunter & Ross Putman are producing the project with Seth Caplan (In Search of a Midnight Kiss, The Last Survivors). Swihart and Sanga have previously collaborated on last year’s The Young Kieslowski. First Girl I Loved is currently in post-production and is expected to be released in 2016.
Swihart also continues to score ABC Family’s Switched at Birth. The composer’s other recent projects include the comedy Staten Island Summer, which is now available to stream on Netflix.
