Emilio Kauderer is composing the music for the upcoming thriller Secret in Their Eyes. The film is directed by Billy Ray (Breach, Shattered Glass) and stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Julia Roberts, Nicole Kidman and Dean Norris. The movie is based on the 2009 Argentinian film of the same title, which received the Academy Award in the Best Foreign Language category, and follows an assistant district attorney who is returning to Los Angeles as a team of investigators uncovers new evidence in a 13-year-old case that may finally convict the savage killer of a child. Ray has also written the screenplay. Mark Johnson (The Chronicles of Narnia, Breaking Bad, The Notebook) is producing the project with Matt Jackson (End of Watch, Snitch). Kauderer previously scored the original film with Federico Jusid. Secret in Their Eyes is set to be released on November 20, 2015 by STX Entertainment.
Kauderer has also composed the animated feature Underdogs, which was scheduled to be released in the U.S. this coming weekend by the Weinstein Company and is currently awaiting a new release date.
Really cool to see argentinian composers having their chances on Hollywood, and even more that Emilio Kauderer scored the original movie, along with Federico Jusid – another talented composer who also needs a big movie of his own.
