Bear McCreary has been tapped to score the upcoming A&E original series Damien. The show is created by Glen Mazzaro and stars Bradley James, Barbara Hershey, Omid Abtahi and Meganlyn Echikunwoke. The drama is a follow-up to the classic 1976 feature The Omen and centers on Damien Thorn, the mysterious child from the film who has grown up seemingly unaware of the satanic forces around him and must now come to terms with his true destiny — that he is the Antichrist. Mazzaro is also executive producing the Fox 21 Television Studios production with Ross Fineman (Lights Out) and Pancho Mansfield. Shekhar Kapur (Elizabeth, The Four Feathers) directed the first episode. McCreary has previously collaborated with Mazzaro on the first seasons of The Walking Dead. Damien is set to premiere in early 2016 on A&E.
McCreary also continues to score AMC’s The Walking Dead, ABC’s Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Syfy’s Defiance, Starz’s DaVinci’s Demons, Black Sails and Outlander, for which he just received an Emmy Award nomination.
