Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for Bill Condon’s drama Mr. Holmes. The album features the film’s original music composed by Carter Burwell (Fargo, Twilight, True Grit, Being John Malkovich) who previously scored the director’s Gods and Monsters, Kinsey, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn and The Fifth Estate. The soundtrack will be released digitally within the next week. A CD version will be released on August 28, 2015 and is available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips are embedded below. Mr. Holmes starring Ian McKellen, Laura Linney and Milo Parker is set in 1947, when an ageing Sherlock Holmes returns from a journey to Japan and faces the end of his days, tending to his bees, with only the company of his housekeeper and her young son. The drama premiered at this year’s Berlin Film Festival and will be released in select theaters this Friday, July 17 by Roadside Attractions. Visit the official movie website for more information.
