Michael Andrews has been tapped to score the upcoming comedy Dirty Grandpa. The film is directed by Dan Mazer (Da Ali G Show, I Give It a Year) and stars Zac Efron, Robert De Niro, Zoey Deutch, Aubrey Plaza, Dermot Mulroney, Julianne Hough, Adam Pally and Jason Mantzoukas. The movie follows an uptight groom who, just before his wedding, is tricked into driving his vulgar former Army general to Florida for spring break. John Phillips wrote the screenplay. Barry Josephson (Bones, Enchanted, Life as We Know It), Bill Block (Fury, Elysium, W.) and Michael Simkin (That Awkward Moment) are producing the project. Dirty Grandpa is set to be released on February 26, 2016 by Lionsgate.
As previously reported, Andrews also has the comedy Daddy’s Home starring Mark Wahlberg & Will Ferrell, as well as the thriller Headlock and the drama The Aderall Diaries coming up. The composer will also return to score the second season of HBO’s Togetherness.
