Michael Andrews has been hired to score the upcoming comedy Daddy’s Home. The film is directed by Sean Anders & John Morris (Horrible Bosses 2, That’s My Boy, Sex Drive) and stars Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Linda Cardellini, Hannibal Buress and Paul Scheer. The movie follows a mild-mannered radio executive who strives to become the best stepdad to his wife’s two children, but complications ensue when their freewheeling and freeloading real father arrives. Brian Burns (Entourage, Blue Bloods) wrote the screenplay with revisions by Anders & Morris, Chris Henchy (The Other Guys, The Campaign) & Adam McKay (Anchorman, Talladega Nights) and Etan Cohen (Tropic Thunder, Get Hard). Morris is also producing the Paramount Pictures production with Ferrell, Henchy and McKay through their Gary Sanchez Productions company. Daddy’s Home is currently in post-production. No release date has been announced yet.
Andrews whose previous scoring credits also include Bridesmaids, Donnie Darko, Bad Teacher and Funny People also has Mark Polish’s thriller Headlock starring Dianna Agron & Andy Garcia coming up. The composer also recently scored the indie drama The Aderall Diaries starring James Franco, Ed Harris & Amber Heard, which just premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and was picked up by A24 Films for domestic distribution.
