Big Machine Records will release a new soundtrack album for the ABC drama Nashville. The album feature songs from the third season of the show performed by cast members including Connie Britton, Hayden Panettiere, Clare Bowen, Jonathan Jackson, Sam Palladio, Charles Esten, Lennon & Maisy, Will Chase, Aubrey Peeoples, Chris Carmack and Laura Benanti. The Season 3 – Volume 2 soundtrack will be released digitally on May 18, 2015 and a CD version with two exclusive tracks will be available at Target. The label has previously released two soundtracks for each of the series’ first two seasons, as well as an album for the third season last fall. Presumably issues with RCA explain Christina Aguilera’s absence (RCA recording artiste Christina guest starred as a pop singer for an arc on the show, and while her songs were released as digital singles they were only for a limited time). And presumably Hayden Panettiere’s pregnancy-induced limited availability this season explains why the album has the same cover picture as the Season 3 Volume 1 set (though tinted differently).
