David Arnold has been tapped to score the upcoming ITV series Jekyll & Hyde. The action adventure is created by Charlie Higson and stars Tom Bateman, Richard E. Grant, Natalie Gumed, Stephanie Hyam, Donald Sumpter, Amit Shah, Phil McKee, Christian McKay and Ruby Bentall. The 10-part series inspired by The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson is set in 1930s London and centers on Robert Jekyll, the grandson of the original doctor, and will follow his quest to discover his real identity and the true nature of his family’s cursed history. Colin Teague (Being Human, Sinbad) is directing the show. Higson is also executive producing the project with Francis Hopkinson (Wallander, Colditz) and Foz Allan (Robin Hood). Jekyll & Hyde is currently shooting in London and is expected to premiere in late 2015 or early 2016 on ITV.
Arnold also continues to score BBC’s Sherlock with Michael Price. The 10th episode of the series is set to premiere this Christmas in the UK.
Here’s hoping he’ll be back for Bond 25, whenever that might be released. Still very much looking forward to Thomas Newman’s Spectre, but I hope he’ll depart when Sam Mendes does.
