Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the period drama Effie Gray. The album features the film’s original music composed by Paul Cantelon (The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, Conviction, Everything Is Illuminated). Effie Gray is directed by Richard Laxton and stars Dakota Fanning, Emma Thompson (who also wrote the film’s screenplay), Julie Walters, Tom Sturridge, Robbie Coltrane, Claudia Cardinale, Derek Jacobi, David Suchet, James Fox and Linda Bassett. The movie tells the real life story of the 19th century Scotswoman who married critic and author John Ruskin as a teenager only to see their six-year relationship finally annulled with Gray still a virgin.
