Premiering tomorrow, December 15, is the Syfy original mini-series Ascension created by Philip Levens and starring Brian P. Bell, Brian Van Holt, Tricia Helfer, Andrea Roth, Tiffany Lonsdale, Ryan Robbins, Jacqueline Byers, P.J. Boudousqué and Gil Bellows. The six-parter’s original music is composed by Trevor Morris (The Tudors, Immortals, The Borgias, Vikings, Olympus Has Fallen). Premiering on Tuesday, December 16, on NBC is the stop-motion animated holiday special Elf: Buddy’s Musical Christmas directed by Mark Caballero & Seamus Walsh and starring Jim Parsons, Mark Hamill, Ed Asner, Fred Armisen, Jay Leno, Matt Lauer, Gilbert Gottfried and Kate Micucci. Matthew Sklar and Christopher Guardino have composed the original score and the special also features songs from the Broadway musical written by Sklar. WaterTower Music will release a soundtrack album featuring the special’s musical on December 16. The full details will be posted on this site within the next couple of days.
