Cristal Records has announced the details of the soundtrack album for the 3D animated feature Asterix: The Land of the Gods (Astérix: Le domaine des dieux). The album features the film’s original music composed by Philippe Rombi (Swimming Pool, The New Girlfriend, Potiche, In the House). Also included is Johann Sebastian Bach’s Fugue No. 5 in D Minor as used in the movie. The soundtrack will be released in France on December 8, 2014. Asterix: The Land of the Gods is directed by Alexandre Astier & Louis Clichy and features the voice talent of Roger Carel, Lorant Deutsch, Alain Chabat, Laurent Lafitte, Géraldine Nakache, Elie Semoun, Florence Foresti and Astier himself in the original French version. The movie based on the 7th Asterix book The Mansion of the Gods follows the exploits of a village of ancient Gauls as they resist Roman occupation. The animated film will be released in France on November 26. No word yet on a domestic distribution deal.
