Varese Sarabande will release a soundtrack album for Mike Leigh’s drama Mr. Turner. The album features the film’s original music composed by Gary Yershon who previously collaborated with the director on such films as Happy Go Lucky and Another Year. Also included is the composer’s score for the director’s short A Running Jump. The soundtrack will be released on December 9, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Mr. Turner is written and directed by Leigh and stars Timothy Spall, Dorothy Atkinson, Marion Bailey, Paul Jesson, Lesley Manville, Martin Savage, Joshua McGuire, Ruth Sheen, David Horovitch and Karl Johnson. The movie explores the last quarter century of the British painter J.M.W. Turner (1775-1851). The drama premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and will be released on December 19 by Sony Pictures Classics. For more information about the film, visit the official movie website.
