TriStar Pictures has announced that Alan Silvestri is reuniting with Robert Zemeckis on the upcoming drama The Walk. The movie stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ben Kingsley, James Badge Dale, Ben Schwartz, Charlotte Le Bon, Clément Sibony and César Domboy. The film is based on Philippe Petit’s book To Reach the Clouds and tells the true story of the French high-wire artist’s attempt to cross the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in 1974. Zemeckis wrote the screenplay with Christopher Browne and is also producing the project with Steve Starkey (Forrest Gump, Contact) and Jack Rapke (Cast Away, Flight, Matchstick Men). The Walk just wrapped principal photography this week and will be released on October 2, 2015 by TriStar. (ComingSoon.Net)
Silvestri also has the family adventure sequel Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb coming up. The film is directed by Shawn Levy (Real Steel, The Pink Panther, Date Night) and stars Ben Stiller. Robin Williams, Ben Kingsley, Dan Stevens, Owen Wilson, Rebel Wilson, Skyler Gisondo, Steve Coogan, Ricky Gervais and Patrick Gallagher. Robert Ben Garant & Thomas Lennon have written the screenplay with David Guion & Michael Handelman (Dinner for Schmucks). Silvestri has previously scored the first two installments in the Night at the Museum series. Secret of the Tomb is set to be released on December 19, 2014 by 20th Century Fox.
