Nicola Piovani is composing the music for the upcoming drama Hungry Hearts. The film is written and directed by Saverio Costanzo (Private, In Memory of Myself) and stars Adam Driver, Alba Rohrwacher and Roberta Maxwell. The movie follows a young married couple in New York City that engages in a fateful struggle over the life of their newborn child. Mario Gianani (Vincere, Me and You) and Lorenzo Mieli (In Treatment) are producing the project. Costanzo’s last feature The Solitude of Prime Numbers featured a score by Mike Patton. Piovani is best known for his Academy Award-winning music for Roberto Begnini’s Life is Beautiful. Hungry Hearts will premiere in September at the Toronto Film Festival.
