La-La Land Records has announced a 3-CD set of the scores to the comedy trilogy The Naked Gun created by David Zucker, Jim Abrahams & Jerry Zucker and starring Leslie Nielsen. The album features the original music from The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!, The Naked Gun 2 1/2: The Smell of Fear and The Naked Gun 33 1/2: The Final Insult composed by Ira Newborn (Ferris’ Bueller’s Day Off, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Sixteen Candles). The soundtrack includes the remastered and expanded score from the first two parts, as well as the world premiere release of Newborn’s music from the third installment. Also featured are the songs from the films, including This Could Be the Start of Something performed by Pia Zadora and Enrico Pallazzo’s rendition of The Star Spangle Banner. The soundtrack set is limited to 2000 copies and will be available to order on La-La Land Records’ website starting next Tuesday, July 15.
