Ben Salisbury and Geoff Barrow are composing the music for the upcoming sci-fi thriller Ex Machina. The film is written and directed by Alex Garland (The Beach, 28 Days Later…, Sunshine, Dredd) and stars Domhnall Gleeson, Oscar Isaac and Alicia Vikander. Andrew Macdonald (Trainspotting, The Beach) is producing the DNA Films production with Allon Reich (Never Let Me Go, 28 Weeks Later). Scott Rudin (No Country for Old Men, The Social Network, Captain Phillips) and Eli Bush serve as executive producers on the project, alongside Tessa Ross. Salisbury’s previous scoring credits include the Beyonce documentary Life is But a Dream. Barrow is best known as a member of the band Portishead and has previously scored a couple of documentaries, most notably Exit Through the Gift Shop. Ex Machina is expected to premiere at one of the major film festivals this fall and is set to be released in the UK in early 2015.
