Nick Cave and Warren Ellis are composing the music for the upcoming French drama Far from Men (Loin des hommes). The film is written and directed by David Oelhoffen and stars Viggo Mortensen and Reda Kateb. The movie is inspired by the short story The Host from French-Algerian philosopher Albert Camus’ book Exile and the Kingdom and follows a French teacher in a small Algerian village in 1957 during Algeria’s war of independence from France. Marc du Pontavice & Matthew Gledhill (War of the Buttons) are producing the project for One World Films. Cave & Ellis have previously scored such films as The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, The Proposition, Lawless and West of Memphis. Far from Men is expected to premiere later this year.
