Intrada Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1988 Vietnam war drama Distant Thunder from Paramount Pictures directed by Rick Rosenthal and starring John Lithgow and Ralph Maccio. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Maurice Jarre (Lawrence of Arabia, Doctor Zhivago, Ghost, Dead Poets Society). The label has also announced the 3-CD set Bernstein: The Ava Collection, which features recordings Elmer Bernstein (The Magnificent Seven, Airplane, Ghostbusters) made for the Ava label between 1962-1965 for the first presented in stereo in their complete form. Scores featured on the album include Walk on the Wild Side, The Carpetbaggers, The Caretakers, Baby the Rain Must Fall, To Kill a Mockingbird, as well as a collection of movie and TV themes.
