Alberto Iglesias is scoring the upcoming drama The Two Faces of January. The film marks the directorial debut of screenwriter Hossein Amini (Drive, Snow White and the Huntsman, Four Feathers) and stars Viggo Mortensen, Kirsten Dunst and Oscar Isaac. The movie is based on the novel of the same title by Patricia Highsmith (The Talented Mr. Ripley, Strangers on a Train) and follows a con artist, his wife and a stranger who try to flee a foreign country after one of them is caught up in the murder of a police officer. Tom Sternberg (Lost Highway, The Talented Mr. Ripley) is producing the Studiocanal and Working Title production with Tim Bevan & Eric Fellner (Atonement, Les Miserables, Love Actually) and Robyn Slovo. Iglesias has previously composed an Academy Award-nominated score for Working Title’s Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. The Two Faces of January is currently in post-production and is expected to premiere in 2014.
Also coming up for Iglesias is the comedic thriller Relatos salvajes written and directed by Damián Szifron. The Spanish and Argentinian co-production is produced Pedro Almodovar who regularly collaborates with the composer. A release in 2014 is expected.
