Peter Gabriel is scoring the upcoming religion-themed movie Words of Gods. The film features nine shorts from renowned international directors, including Serbia’s Emir Kusturica (Underground), Japan’s Hideo Nakata (Dark Water), Iran’s Bahman Ghobadi (Turtles Can Fly), India’s Mira Nair (Vanity Fair) and Mexico’s Guillermo Arriaga (The Burning Plain). Arriaga is also producing the project with Alex Garcia. Nobel Prize-winning author Mario Vargas Llosa serves as a creative consultant. Peter Gabriel has previously scored such films as Martin Scorsese’s The Last Temptation of Christ and Phillip Noyce’s Rabbit-Proof Fence. Words of Gods is expected to premiere at one of the major film festivals and is scheduled for a commercial release in 2014. (via The Hollywood Reporter)
