La-La Land Records has announced an expanded release of the original motion picture score to the 1991 feature film Grand Canyon written and directed by Lawrence Kasdan and starring Kevin Kline, Mary McDonald, Danny Glover and Steve Martin. The album features the movie’s original score composed by James Newton Howard. The special limited edition soundtrack contains more than 25 minutes of score not found on the original soundtrack release. The label has also announced the CD premiere of the original scores to Paramount Pictures’ acclaimed westerns The Shootist (1975) and The Sons of Katie Elder (1965). The music is composed and conducted by Elmer Bernstein. Included is the title song from The Sons of Katie Elder performed by Johnny Cash, as well as the John Wayne narration. Also featured is a rare version of the title song performed by Ernie Sheldon and released as a single when the film opened. The album is limited to 2000 copies.
