Jean-Michel Bernard is scoring the upcoming romantic comedy Love Punch. The film is written and directed by Joel Hopkins and stars Emma Thompson and Pierce Brosnan as a divorced couple who have to reunite when their pension is stolen by an unscrupulous businessman. Timothy Spall, Celia Imrie, Louise Bourgoin and Laurent Lafitte are co-starring. Tim Perell (Shortbus, The Rebound) and Nicola Usborne are producing for Process Media, Clement Miserez (Faces in the Crowd) is producing for Radar Films and Jean-Charles Levy (The Tall Man) is producing for Love Punch Limited. Hopkins previously collaborated with composer Dickon Hinchliffe on his last feature Last Chance Harvey starring Dustin Hoffman and Emma Thompson. Love Punch is currently in post-production and is expected to premiere later this year.
Michel-Bernard whose previous film scoring credits include Michel Gondry’s The Science of Sleep and Be Kind Rewind, as well as the Oscar-nominated drama Madame Bovary also has the French drama Cadences Obstinées coming up. The film is directed by Fanny Ardant and stars Nuno Lopes, Ricardo Pereira, Asia Argento, Gérard Depardieu and Tudor Istodor. The movie has recently finished principal photography and is expected to be release later in 2013.
