Milan France has released a soundtrack album for drama Wadjda. The album features the film’s original music composed by Max Richter (Waltz with Bashir, Perfect Sense). The soundtrack is now available in France. No word yet on a domestic release. Click here to listen to audio clips. Wadjda written and directed by Haifaa Al-Mansour is the first feature film shot entirely in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The movie follows a 10-year old girl who challenges deep-rooted Saudi traditions in a determined quest to buy a bicycle. When everything goes against her plans, she sees one last chance in her school’s Koran recitation competition and the large cash prize for first place. The movie premiered at last year’s Venice Film Festival and is now playing in several European territories. Sony Pictures Classics has picked up domestic rights and is planning a release later this year.
