Christopher Lennertz is scoring the upcoming music-themed drama Battle of the Year: The Dream Team. The film is directed by Benson Lee and is based on his 2007 documentary about the international world of B-boying, also known in the US as breakdancing. The movie starring Josh Holloway, Laz Alonso, Josh Peck, Caity Lotz and Chris Brown centers on an all-star American b-boy crew training to compete in France at the Battle of the Year (BOTY) International Championships. Brin Hill (Won’t Back Down) and Chris Parker (Vampire in Brooklyn) have written the screenplay and Beau Flynn & Tripp Vinson (The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Journey to the Center of the Earth) are producing the project for Contrafilm, along with Amy Lo. Lennertz whose previous film scoring credits include such films as Horrible Bosses, Hop and Screen Gems’ Think Like a Man also the crime comedy Identity Thief starring Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy coming out next month. He will also continue to score the NBC hit series Revolution, which is set to return on March 25, 2013.
