Will Bates is scoring the upcoming documentary We Steal Secrets: The Story of WikiLeaks. The film is helmed by Academy Award-winning director Alex Gibney (Taxi to the Dark Side, Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room, Freakonomics) and explores the people and events behind the upstart website that rocked the U.S. government, ushered in a new era of transparency and ignited an information war. Gibney is producing the movie with Marc Shmuger (Dead of Winter) and Alexis Bloom. Bates is best known as a member of the composing duo Fall On Your Sword whose credits include such titles as Another Earth, Lola Versus and 28 Hotel Rooms. We Steal Secrets: The Story of WikiLeaks marks his first major solo scoring assignment. The film is set to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January and is expected to be released later in 2013 by Universal Pictures.
