Michael Wandmacher is scoring the upcoming horror sequel The Last Exorcism Part II. The film is directed by Ed Gass-Donnelly (Small Town Murder Song) and stars Ashley Bell who is found alone and terrified in the woods after the events from the previous movie. Gass-Donnelly has also co-written the screenplay with Damien Chazelle. Eli Roth (Hostel, Cabin Fever) returns to produce the sequel alongside Eli Roth alongside Marc Abraham, Thomas A. Bliss & Eric Newman (Children of Men, Dawn of the Dead) for Strike Entertainment. Roth’s regular musical collaborator Nathan Barr (Hostel, True Blood) has previously scored the 2010 original film in the series. CBS Films has recently picked up domestic distribution rights for The Last Exorcism Part II and will release the film in theaters on March 1, 2013.
As previously reported, Wandmacher also the horror film The Haunting in Georgia coming up. The composer whose best known film scoring credits include Piranha 3D, Drive Angry and Punisher: War Zone also has recently scored the horror thriller Werewolf: The Beast Among Us. The film directed by Louis Morneau (Bats) stars Stephen Rea, Steven Bauer, Ed Quinn, Nia Peeples (“Pretty Little Liars,” “Walker Texas, Ranger”), Guy Wilson and Adam Croasdell. The movie was released on Blu-Ray and DVD last month and is now available to order on Amazon.
