John Swihart is scoring the upcoming FOX comedy The Goodwin Games. The show is created by Carter Bays and Craig Thomas and stars Scott Foley, Becki Newton, T. J. Miller, Kat Foster and Melissa Tang. The series follows three grown siblings who return home after their father’s death, and unexpectedly find themselves poised to inherit a vast fortune – if they adhere to their late father’s wishes. Bays and Thomas have previously created and are executive producing the CBS hit comedy How I Met Your Mother, which Swihart has been scoring for the past seven years. They are also executive producing The Goodwin Games with Chris Harris and Peyton Reed (The Break-Up, Bring It On) who also directed the pilot episode. The 20th Century Fox Television production is set to premiere in early 2013 on FOX. For updates on the series, visit the official show Facebook page.

The composer’s other current TV shows besides How I Met Your Mother include NBC’s Go On and ABC Family’s Switched at Birth. The composer has also scored Stephen Sommers’ Odd Thomas, which is expected to be released in 2013, as well as the thriller Love Sick Love directed by Christian Charles (Jerry Seinfeld’s Comedian documentary), which is set to premiere later this month at the St. Louis Film Festival.
