Variety is reporting that songwriter Diane Warren has teamed up again with Celine Dion for an original song written for the comedy drama Song for Marion. The song Unfinished Songs with music and lyrics by Warren and performed by Dion is playing over the film’s end credits. Warren has previously been nominated for six Academy Awards for her work for film, including for the song Because You Loved Me from 1996’s Up Close and Personal, which was also performed by Dion. Unfinished Songs is already considered a strong contender to get a nomination at next year’s award ceremony, especially given the Academy’s recent rule change that guarantees five nominations in the Best Original Song category. Song for Marion written and directed by Paul Andrew William and Terence Stamp, Gemma Arterton, Christopher Eccleston, Vanessa Redgrave, Anne Reid and Elizabeth Counsell follows a grumpy pensioner who is reluctantly inspired by his wife to join a highly unconventional local choir. As previously reported, Laura Rossi has composed the film’s score. The movie will be premiering at the Toronto Film Festival later this week. The Weinstein Company has domestic rights for the film, but no release date has been announced yet.
Diane Warren and Celine Dion Reteaming for ‘Song for Marion’

Time to go on my Celine Dion rant.
She just won’t go away! We were doing so good with Canada, giving us The Kids in the Hall, Norm McDonald, but then Dion came over the border.
She always gets all the credit for that “Titanic” song, every single time I hear it mentioned or played (well, lst time I listened to a radio station that played songs, which was a long time ago).
No one every thanks Will Jennings for writing the lyrics, or James Horner for doing the music. So, she didn’t even write the words! But boy did she get all the fame.
Yes, Celine takes all the credits!!! And she deserves them all…
MHWGO… Everything went pretty well together but if what not CELINE’S voice… Non of this would have happened.
She is considered as one of the most beautiful voices of all time. And for sure, she’s one of best singers who ever hit this planet (Those are not my words but David Foster’s).
So, my friend Justin, you just feel honored to be working with a personality like CELINE DION and you just CAN’T ask for any credits… They are all HERS!!!
Sorry buddy, but that’s the way it is…
I am so happy I don’t share your sick view of the world, Tiago…
I’m even happier to know that your healthy view of the world is just the minority, my friend!!!
Take that… And you have to face this reality! Because as our friend said in his first post, no matter if you like it or not, she will get all the credits! That’s the important thing here!!!
God bless…
Imagine this: you are a surgeon, who just saved someone’s life. How would you feel, if all the credit for that went to the manufacturer, who made the scalpel?
The truth is James Horner is the surgeon, and Celine Dion is just a good scalpel. Important, but worthless without a surgeon. That’s the way it is.
Well, this is not taking us anywhere, anyway.
Let me say what I really think and it’s done to me.
You are right Macejko when you say that. I got mad with the first post which I think it was a little bit offensive and then I felt like saying something and maybe I shouldn’t say anything. But now I’ll say what I really think:
First of all, of course Will Jennings and James Horner deserves a lot for writing the lyrics and all those things about the song. Céline is the FIRST to thank them all every time she can. Yes, they deserve so much!!! They really do.
BUT, in that case, don’t get me wrong here, I don’t wanna underestimate the others, but Céline was the surgeon… Let’s put it this way: They wrote a pretty nice song and then, ME, TIAGO, will sing it… Man, believe me… NOBODY will hear it. No matter how good the melody is or the lyrics are. They just won’t. Céline had a pretty good scalpel and she did an amazing surgery!!! Do you know what I mean?!
Once again, they deserve the credits as well, but for sure… If it was not Céline’s voice, it wouldn’t be like this. Just a fact!
They had a very good stuff in their hands… But only this is totally worthless as well…
I think I can accept this argument 😉
The truth is: People need people! They need each other to make the work better…
😀
She deserves it she the best and the only singer that is open and kind and always shows her true side
