Aaron Zigman has signed on to score the upcoming comedy drama The Marriage Counselor. The film is written and directed by Tyler Perry and stars Jurnee Smollett as an Ivy League educated relationship expert who gives marital advice for a living, yet can’t seem to follow that advice in her own marriage. The cast also includes Lance Gross, Kim Kardashian, Vanessa Williams, Brandy Norwood, Robbie Jones, Ella Joyce and Jerry Stiller. Paul Hall and Ozzie Areu, both regular collaborators of the filmmaker are producing the movie. Zigman has become Perry’s composer of choice for his feature projects over the last couple of years. The Marriage Counselor is set for a release on July 27, 2012 by Lionsgate.
Also coming up for Zigman is Tyler Perry’s Good Deeds starring Perry, Thandie Newton, Rebecca Romijn, Gabrielle Union and Jamie Kennedy.
