The movie centers on two mothers who channel frustration into action and join forces to transform an inner-city public school in Pittsburgh. The film is directed by Daniel Barnz who previously collaborated with the composer on this year’s teen romance Beastly. Barnz also co-wrote the project’s script with Brin Hill and Mark Johnson (Rain Man, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Notebook) is producing. Still I Rise is produced by Walden Media (The Chronicle of Narnia series) and will be distributed domestically by 20th Century Fox. A release of the film in 2012 is expected.
Also coming up for Zarvos is Barry Levinson’s sci-fi film The Bay. The composer’s music for Curtis Hanson’s HBO drama Too Big to Fail will be released next month by Varese Sarabande.
