Jeff Danna has signed on to write the music for the mystery thriller The Tall Man. The film is the English-language feature debut of writer/director Pascal Laugier (Martyrs, House of Voices) and stars Jessica Biel as a nurse living in a small town where children have gone missing over the years. When her own child goes missing, a desperate chase begins, leading her to confront the secret of the identity of the Tall Man and what happens to the children. The movie co-stars Jodelle Ferland (Eclipse), Stephen McHattie (Watchmen, 300) and William B. Davis (The X-Files). A release for The Tall Man is expected later this year.
The composer is also currently finishing up the score for the action thriller The Killing Game. The film marks the directorial debut of visual effects supervisor Jonah Loop and stars Kellan Lutz (Twilight), Nina Dobrev (Vampire Diaries), Samuel L. Jackson, James Remar (Dexter), Derek Mears (Friday the 13th) and Daniel Dae Kim (Lost). In the movie, a young man is kidnapped and forced into the savage world of a modern gladiator arena, where men fight to the death for entertainment of the online masses. The Killing Game, originally entitled Deathgames was shot last spring and is currently in post-production. No release date has been set for the movie, but an announcement is expected soon.
Jeff Danna has also been c0-scoring the Starz series Camelot with his brother Mychael Danna. The show is currently airing every Friday on Starz and a soundtrack will be released on May 3 by Varese Sarabande Records. Check out our soundtrack announcement for more information.
