Victor Reyes is set to score the upcoming psychological thriller Red Lights. The project reunites the composer with director Rodrigo Cortéz who has worked with Reyes multiple times, most recently on their international breakthrough film Buried starring Ryan Reynolds, which was released last year. Red Lights stars Robert De Niro, Cillian Murphy, Sigourney Weaver, Joely Richardson, Toby Jones and Elizabeth Olsen. The movie centers on a psychologist and her assistant whose study of paranormal activity leads them to investigate a world-renowned psychic. The thriller has already sold to many international territories, while a domestic distribution deal has yet to be announced. The current plan is to release the film in early 2012.
Reyes is also scoring the horror thriller Emergo. The film is written by Rodrigo Cortéz and directed by Carles Torrens. The movie starring Kai Lennox, Michael O’Keefe and Rick Gonzales revolves around a team of parapsychologists who try to figure out a strange phenomena occurring in an apartment building. The group’s attempts to contact with the “other side” grow increasingly dangerous, nearing a point of no return. The Spanish production was shot in English last summer and will most likely be released later this year.
