Richard Gibbs is currently scoring the upcoming comedy Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer. The movie is based on is based on characters from Megan McDonald’s children’s book series. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the comedy chronicles Judy Moody’s determination to have the most thrilling summer of her life, aided by her brother Stink and her fun-loving Aunt Opal. The film is directed by John Schultz and stars Jordana Beatty in the title role, Heather Graham and Jaleel White. Schultz and Gibbs previously collaborated on 2002’s Like Mike, 2003’s When Zachary Beaver Came to Town and 2005’s The Honeymooners. Schultz has also most recently worked together with composer John Debney on Aliens in the Attic. Gibbs also recently scored the Australian drama Face to Face. The film is directed by Michael Rymer, who worked with Gibbs before on Battlestar Galactica and Queen of the Damned. The movie centers on a young scaffold construction worker who is charged with assaulting his boss. Face to Face recently premiered at the Santa Barbara Film Festival, where it won the Best Film Award.
