According to the Gorfaine/Schwartz agency, Geoff Zanelli has been hired to score the upcoming thriller Beneath the Darkness. In the movie set in Texas, a 16-year-old boy struggles to expose the grim secrets surrounding a “haunted” house after the death of his best friend. The film is directed by Martin Guigui and stars Dennis Quaid, Tony Oller, Aimee Teegarden, Stephen Lunsford, Devon Werkheiser and Brett Cullen. The indie thriller which is currently in post-production is produced by Ronnie Klemer (A League of Their Own) and written by Bruce Wilkinson, who also serves as an executive producer on the film alongside Scott Mednick (Where the Wild Things Are). The film is currently expected to be released this fall. For more information on Beneath the Darkness, visit the official movie Facebook page.
Zanelli also has the action comedy You May Not Kiss the Bride coming up, which he scored last year. The film directed by Rob Hedden stars Dave Annable, Katharine McPhee, Rob Schneider, Mena Suvari and Kathy Bates. In the movie, an unassuming pet photographer is thrown into serious action, adventure and romance when he’s forced to marry a Croatian bride and spend his honeymoon at a remote tropical resort where she is kidnapped. No release date has been set for the comedy. To listen to audio clips from the score, visit the Music section on Zanelli’s official webpage.
